We do our best to get the bonus patterns posted shortly after the magazine goes on sale each year. Sometimes it takes a little extra time if corrections are needed during the proofing process. All patterns should be posted by the start of the Shop Hop.
By LJ Pixie Saberg, A Kaleidoscope of Quilts
L.J. taught herself to sew over 50 years ago on an old treadle sewing machine gifted by her aunt. Starting with doll clothes, her own clothes, and saving fabric scraps, she created her first quilt, igniting a passion for quilting in all its forms. L.J. has crafted various quilts, including for dolls, babies, couches, beds, wall hangings, and mini quilts using half inch blocks. Now retired from accounting and bookkeeping, L.J. enjoys designing, teaching, and collaborating with others. Remarkably, she still owns her treadle machine, which remains functional during power outages.

By Deb Messina, Quiltblox
Pattern designer, quilter, blogger, and online shop owner, Deb learned to sew as a pre-teen from her grandfather. He taught her how to draft patterns – starting with chair cushions and drapes. From there she moved on to clothing and then, inspired by a stack of family quilts made by her great aunt, to quilting. Many of her quilt designs are block-based: traditional with a modern twist. You can follow Quiltblox on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and Threads.
By Doris Rice-Cedillo, Cactus Queen Quilt Co
Doris’s love for quilting began in childhood by watching her mom and grandma design and sew quilts for loved ones. As she began working part-time at her local quilt store, her passion deepened. The more she sewed, the more she began both designing and creating her own patterns, leading to the establishment of Farmhouse Designs. Doris’s keen eye for mixing colors and her talent for designing memorable quilts have become a passion.
By Anne Marcellis, Sam Quilt Designs
Anne began quilting in 2001 and has since become a prominent figure in her quilting community. As a speaker, award-winning quilter, and pattern designer, she shares her experience and expertise through teaching all things quilty. Anne channels her passion into creating vibrant quilt patterns that are visually stunning yet still accessible to quilters of all levels. Her recent project showcases the clever use of wandering squares to create a unique and memorable keepsake.
By Wendy Martin, Harvest Moon Quilting Company
Wendy has been sewing, quilting, and crafting all her life, remembering tying quilts with both her grandmothers as a child. Quilting remains her favorite craft to this day, especially the math involved in designing. A lifelong South Dakota resident, Wendy is a wife, a mother to two daughters, works as a nurse, runs a Long Arm Quilting business, and raises a large flock of sheep. In her spare time, she enjoys card making and paper crafting with her mother.
